
Each view of Machu Picchu in person is spectacular and inspiring. It was often difficult to pick (out of many) images to demonstrate this feeling. I felt like this view from up on high looking down on the walls and mountains conveyed the scene well.

As hundreds of tourists walked and explored in many directions, there were several wild animals meandering about snacking on grass or lying down for a rest. I was about six feet from this big guy and he did not seem to mind (let alone notice) me at all. More intricate tiered stonework in the background.
