After Furnace Creek, you need to turn onto Badwater Road to get to Badwater Basin. While you are on this road, I highly recommend you turn off on Artists Drive for the nine-mile loop of scenery straight out of Star Wars. As you get closer to the low hills, you can see more and more colors pop out of the landscape. This area is known as Artists Palette.
