Here’s a split-screen close-up of one of the Twenty Mule Team wagons at Harmony Borax Works. While there is a lot of color and decoration in Death Valley, it mostly winds up being the colors of dirt, rock, and sand. I became really focused on how the centuries-old rusty red paint looks against the desert backdrop. I tried to delicately edit this image to bring out some of the grains of the old wood on the wagon, as well as the red painted wheels.
