Walking Trees in the Rainforest


One of the unique things our rainforest guides pointed out were the Socratea exorrhiza, or “walking” palm tree. The idea is that their root system would set down new roots and move the tree small degrees at a time. You can search the web for more information on them, but I would prefer to stick with this explanation.
