Last Horse We'll See For a While

A white horse was munching grass near a meandering river. This was fifty feet or so from the Inca Trail starting point, and we had four days and three nights to complete it (with the help of our excellent guides and porters). This animal was indeed the last horse we’ll see for a while.

As we walked around for hours trying to avoid snakes and tarantulas, we spent time amongst some of the largest and oldest trees on Planet Earth. It was spectacular to behold these unperturbed giants towering above everything else. As expected, the root systems for these trees were substantial.
